Introduction to Crystals

Crystals work with the human energy field to restore a healthy balance – physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. The energetic properties of the crystals are used to influence your own energy field to return it to a specific healthy vibrational frequency.
* don’t worry, if this sounds complicated or a little ‘out there’, we will explain it in more detail a little further down!

Basically – they can help you with many different ailments in your life including physical pain such as headaches, mental blocks such as breaking through creative ruts, emotionally such as helping you get rid of stress and anxiety, or on a spiritual level by deepening your meditation practice or helping you connect in.

& hey, you don’t have to be spiritual to use crystals and enjoy their benefits!
Crystals are for everyone.
These are just a few examples of the benefits they have.

Crystals are formed in the earth’s crust over millions of years under heat and high pressure. They are the most orderly structure in nature because they have the lowest state of entropy possible, which is the measurement of ‘disorder’.
The way they are structured makes them respond to the inputs of all different energies around them, leading them to oscillate and emit specific vibratory frequencies. The balanced state of the crystal lattice makes it so the energy they emit is consistent, and any discordant energy that is inputted is balanced and transformed into a harmonic energy.
 – (you can read more about that here).

Because of their ability to emit consistent frequencies and store tremendous amounts of information, crystals are essential in modern technologies.
Quartz is used in watches to help them tell time because it helps stabilize and regulate the flow of energy. Rubies are used in lasers because of their amazing ability to focus and concentrate energy. Silicon chips are used in every computer and cellphone to provide memory, and the display screens of these devices use liquid crystals (LCD screens). LCD stands for liquid crystal display and is created by a layer of liquid crystal between transparent electrodes to affect reflectivity and the transmission of light.

Although we use crystals for a lot of practical purposes these days in modern technology, the use of crystals dates back to ancient times.
Humans have basically used crystals forever.

In Ancient Egypt, pharaohs and priests used cylinders filled with quartz to balance the energies of the body. Lapis Lazuli was worn by Cleopatra (and other female royalty) in order to bring enlightenment and awareness. Romans were known to use crystals to enhance their health, attract desirable things, and for protection when in battle. Mayan and American Indians used crystals to diagnose and treat disease.

We won’t go into too much detail here about the vast amount of ways crystals have been used throughout time (we’ll save that for another day), but the history behind them dates extremely far back!

There are a number of different ways to choose your crystals. You can,

– concentrate on the purpose for which you intend to use the crystal, and then see which ones stand out to you

– take a moment to breathe deeply and quiet your mind, and let the name of a crystal pop into your head

– shop based on the specific crystal meanings, if you already know what you would like to use it for!

Overall, trust your intuition. It is widely believed that crystals choose YOU. If you are drawn to a specific one, trust that it is the right one for you.
These methods of choosing a crystal will also work if you are shopping for someone else. Simply set that intention that you are looking for the right crystal for that specific person.

You also always want to make sure you are purchasing genuine, quality crystals.
Man-made ones are not excavated from the earth, so they do not hold the same benefits. They simply take on the chemical property or compound that they are made from, so they do not contain any healing elements.
